The realms of humans and yokai have been separate ever since a global war broke out, and a barrier was created between worlds. Centuries later, the barrier is beginning to weaken. What could this be a sign of?

What is Tales of Yumeyama?

Fun fact: this work of mine is actually fanfiction of a ROBLOX game known as The Mimic, a horror game series that is based around Japanese mythology and folklore, save for one or two seasonal side modes. The game's main story -- made up of four books -- is far from complete, so parts of Tales of Yumeyama are highly subject to change. However, I recommend playing or watching someone play through The Mimic to better understand Tales of Yumeyama's story, and this little paragraph about it.

Tales of Yumeyama started out as a NextGen AU, featuring the descendant of Book 1's MC. Said descendant is Nokia Masashige, one of my few Autistic OCs (you'd think I'd have more canonically neurodivergent OCs, being neurodivergent myself, but that's neither here nor there).

Then came alternate POVs for the existing books. What did the events of X story look like from the eyes of another? This question is what really made Tales of Yumeyama, well, Tales of Yumeyama; because it opened opportunities for lore, specifically in Fuwako Yumeyama, the main character of Yumeyama's first story chronologically.
